Highlights
The presenter said his long position in BlackBerry (BBRY) is “just a trade” for now, but he likes the risk/ reward at present levels ($10) and believes there’s a high probability the market buys into what he sees happening at the company. He disclosed that he was short BBRY from the $15-16 level, and rode the position down to $6; however, during BBRY’s most recent earnings call their investment outlook changed dramatically due to the commentary of CEO John Chen. The company is in the midst of an aggressive transition from handset/ device manufacturer to an enterprise software services company, and the long trade is based largely on the belief that Chen may be able to make progress faster than skeptics and the Street expect.
