Highlights

The presenter is long shares of Yahoo! (YHOO) and believes buying ahead of the Alibaba IPO will be a profitable trade. He provided a quick overview of YHOO’s 23-24% stake in the owner of Tmall and Taobao (among other global e-commerce entities), and noted that YHOO amended its agreement dictating how much stock it would have to sell in the IPO and doesn’t have to sell as large a portion as was originally outlined. This is bullish because Alibaba is YHOO’s biggest asset and it is widely known that the core business is struggling. At present levels he sees ~10% downside risk, and the potential to make 25%+ upside near-term.
