Highlights
Shares of Baidu (BIDU) have not performed particularly well since the 4th quarter of 2014, but the presenter believes the recent underperformance (shares are off ~15% from recent highs) is a buying opportunity. He is long the stock, and cited a noticeable difference in management’s rhetoric over the past few weeks following alleged bribery issues (May) and most recently Ctrip’s failed attempt to acquire Qunar, which is majority owned by BIDU. In his opinion, it would be logical for a plan to be outlined when Q2 earnings are announced on July 23rd. This should be a positive catalyst and “the increased transparency should help push the stock towards $300”.
